Quick Kale Apple Smoothie
Simple kale apple smoothie recipe. This quick kale smoothie is perfect for a post-workout snack or on-the-go breakfast.
- 4 kale leaves, stems reserved for another use (about 2 cups)
- 1 apple, core removed, roughly chopped
- 1 tbsp chia seeds
- 1 tbsp ground flaxseed
- 1/2 cup choice of milk (or yogurt)
- 3 cubes ice
Gather and prepare all ingredients. Add to a blender and puree until smooth. Scrape down the sides of the blender and puree a few more seconds.
Serve immediately or store in the refrigerator in a sealed container for 1-2 days.
Milk Substitute: Instead of milk, you can use your choice of yogurt. This will give you a thicker and creamier smoothie.
Ground Flaxseed: Whole flaxseeds are harder to digest and don't give you the full health benefits. If you can't find ground flaxseed, you can grind whole flaxseed yourself by processing them in your blender or food processor until ground.
